Youth Unity

Youth Unity is established to provide effective help and support to vulnerable young people and adults affected by group violence (gangs), drugs and other forms of exploitation such as human trafficking, child sexual exploitation and extremism.

We work in collaboration with statutory organisations, commissioned services and charities to provide a more cohesive approach to solutions.

We focus on improving opportunities for all, especially young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Our overall belief is that by helping to improve the overall health and well-being of an individual they can make better informed choices and decisions.

We offer mentoring, workshops and training for young people, professionals, parents and carers.

Our core belief revolves around ensuring that every young person is treated fairly and as a unique individual, regardless of factors such as age, gender, race, religion, ability, or background.

As an organisation, our primary objective is to facilitate the thriving and realisation of the full potential of young individuals, ensuring they are thoroughly prepared for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in their adult lives. We do this by offering projects and programs that can help with education and employment opportunities.

We follow the 3 P’s

Prevent: People becoming involved in serious youth violence, being exploited participating in violence.

Protect: To strengthen adults and young people by building their emotional and cognitive (thinking) resilience, better enabling them to ‘say no’ to violence, drugs, crime and other forms of vulnerability.We work with statutory services, education, police, social care, local safeguarding boards, charities, local authorities, to deliver productions, workshops and training for young people and adults across the UK.

Prepare: To effectively mitigate risks through preventative measures and innovative creative media early intervention. Our aim is to kick start conversations, build resilience and inspire change around complex social issues.

Barking Football Club

Barking Football Club stands as a vibrant and integral part of the local sporting landscape, embodying a rich legacy of football excellence and community engagement. Nestled in the heart of Barking, the club serves as a focal point for sports enthusiasts and residents alike. With a storied history dating back decades, Barking FC is not just a football club; it’s a community institution fostering a sense of unity and pride.

Barking Rugby Club

Barking Rugby Club, nestled in the heart of the vibrant community it serves, stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of rugby and camaraderie.

With a proud history and a commitment to fostering both athletic excellence and a strong sense of community, the club has become a hub for rugby enthusiasts in Barking.

Beyond the exhilarating matches on the field, Barking Rugby Club plays a pivotal role in nurturing the development of young talent, instilling core values of teamwork, discipline, and respect.

50-50 SYNC

Who we are

50-50 SYNC CIC is a ‘micro sized’ social enterprise set up in 2011. We have a combined 30 years’ worth of experience working within various Local Authority (LA) children services and both primary and secondary mainstream and special school settings including PRU’s.

What we do

We provide a targeted response with specific aims and objectives to address ‘pupil engagement’ issues at both ends of the scale; those children in school settings and those children missing in education. We provide skill-based interventions which cultivate ‘work ready mindsets’. We assess the needs of the child through six mechanisms of change which impact employability capabilities.

Why we do it

To support all children and young people to engage in education and develop employability skills to enhance their life outcomes.

Al Madina Mosque Barking

We can’t help everyone but everyone can help someone.

The Barking Muslims Association is a charitable trust registered with and overseen by the charities commission of England and Wales. The BMA administers the Al Madina mosque which is situated on the site at Victoria Road and encompasses three separate buildings on the complex. Over the last 30 years the Mosque has worked hard to become a hub for the local communities and is today acknowledged and recognised as a Beacon mosque.

Sports Sessions: Al Madina conduct 15 separate sports sessions every week, with an average attendance of 15 to 20 youngsters per session. This translates to approximately 800 sessions annually, through which we engage approximately 11,700 to 15,600 youngsters each year.

The outcomes are notable: fostering disciplined, punctual, and confident youngsters who not only embody these values themselves but also impart them to others.

They become agents of positive change, teaching their disciplines to peers and educating others to lead purposeful and valuable lives.

Meditation & Counselling: Accredited mediation team addresses parental/child issues, fostering understanding and respect, while our professional counselling service tackles various social issues, including domestic violence, mental health, and substance abuse. We successfully address taboo subjects, ensure confidentiality, and offer comfort to those in need, helping individuals overcome crises and lead healthier, happier

Parenting Support: The evidence-based group parenting program emphasises protective factors associated with effective parenting and improved child outcomes. Drawing on social learning and attachment theories, we employ a trauma-informed approach to engage families. Interactive learning methods encourage parents to share experiences and practice strategies during sessions, which they then implement at home and review with the group.

Workshops: Calligraphy, Arts& crafts, chess, gardening, music workshops, hijama, acupuncture, massage and DIY

Secondary School for Girls: Ofsted registered Girls only School situated on site. Seeking to educate and inspire the future of the community. The Core Values are summarised into an acronym FITRA which stands for forbearing, inquisitive, truthful, respectful, and ambitious, and represents the qualities we seek to instil and inculcate in our 100 pupils.

SEND: Al Madina Mosque, collaborating with SEND specialists, provides impactful services focused on wellbeing, SEND interventions, and occupational therapy concepts. Tailored for children and young people aged 3-25,.

A socially responsible service provider, I endeavour to reach out to as many young people as I can serve. To do this, I take great strides to ensure I provide help through meaningful activities that will improve the quality of lives of those who are in need and empower them to better themselves.

Barking Sports 4 Change is committed to encouraging sports-based collaboration between communities, organisations, and residents. Our goal is to increase access to sport for everyone, while developing opportunities for learning and employment.

We believe that access to sport and its benefits are a right and not a privilege. For young people growing up in low-income, underserved communities, however, opportunities to play sport and be active are all too often either limited or non-existent.

To bridge this opportunity gap, we work closely with our network members and partners to unlock the multiple benefits that physical activity can offer to children and young people living in underserved communities.
